Casting

Once a show is selected and approved by the committee a cast must be found. This is usually done by internal advertising (via the AWTCo mailing list) and word of mouth. It is expected that an audition pack is made available which outlines the requirements for a role within the production. A pro-forma audition pack is available which should be used as the basis for a production audition pack.

Pitching a show idea

The first step in bringing an AWTCo show to the stage is getting committee approval. The AWTCo committee have ultimate responsibility for the running of the company including ensuring the company opperates within budgetry constraints and that appropriate resources are available. It is currently not feasable to provide cast and crew for more than one production at a time and there is an overal limit to the total number of shows staged during the course of a year. It is the committee that set and enforce these limits.

Director's Handbook

This handbook details show direction from an AWTCo perspective. Questions, comments and feedback is most welcome. This is an organic, collaborative document intended to distill the experiences of all our directors into an easy to use resource for AWTCo members and beyond.
